Welcome! Rabbitpoets.com exists because I like talking and writing about things I like. I initially started it because I wanted a place of my own to about random anime and video game topics every now and then. I didn’t intend to write about episodes on a regular basis, but as I did so, I found that it was pretty fun.
I think of this as somewhere in between an episodic blog and a "personal" blog. Episode reviews much of the time, but chill enough to toss in some more random posts that don’t fit into any specific category.
About me
You can find me on MAL. I’m on there pretty often. Stop by and say hello sometime, it’s an awesome site. You can also contact me via twitter. Or better yet, leave a comment on an entry. As much as I like writing about my thoughts, I actually enjoy hearing other’s thoughts, and going back and forth, even more.
I was never a huge anime fan growing up. I’d seen the famous movies like Akira, Ghost in the Shell, the Ghibli movies (Princess Mononoke, especially), and I was a big fan of animation in general, particularly the Dini/Timm DC universe, but I was never really hooked on it.
Then back in the summer 2007, I read a description for an anime called "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya" that I thought sounded interesting. So I downloaded with the intent to watch it on a rainy day. I didn’t get around to watching it for a few months. But once I started it, I was hooked. And next thing you know, here I am. Thank God for the Internet, eh?
I like most genres, and I’ll watch almost anything with a good plot and good characters, but I tend to be a particular fan of action/dramas with a good mix of comedy, slice of life shows, and straight-up comedies with a romantic twist (though preferably not harems). The genres that I don’t particularly enjoy are overly dramatic romances (Kyo/Key-ani, I’m looking at you), yaoi and obviously anything with a sucky plot, or crappy characters.
