dantalian3

Gainax is finally out with one of the latest premieres of the summer season. Unfortunately, they’re following this weird trend of shows featuring ill-tempered, socially retarded, but moebait little girl detectives. Fortunately, Dantalian blesses us with a quite capable male lead to pick up some of the slack.

usagi-drop-1

More than the bundle of cute that is Rin, Usagi Drop is really about Daikichi and the changes he makes to his life after unexpectedly picking up a child.

natsume

A first impression for Natsume Yuujinchou seems silly considering it’s now in its third season.

usagi-drop-1

After watching KamiMemo – which was equivalent to watching Charlie Sheen just puke nonsense after nonsense non-stop just desperately grasping to find some snappy and clever lines along the way – Usagi Drop was like watching a simple, understated silent movie. The dialogue was sparse. The score was perfectly whimsical and non-obstrusive. And when characters [...]

yuruyuri

Scamp was quite glowing in his post about Yuru Yuri. To wit: A work of pure brilliance. Such a seemingly simply yet ingenius twist on a well known tale. The effort gone into this is immense. Each scene is brimming with energy and charm, yet it has this underlying tone and message that cuts straight [...]

Saw this on Kotaku via Forever Geek, but the Japan Anime Map! courtesy of the Japan National Tourism Organization. Dammit, where was this when I went to Japan two months ago!?

Fantastic, fantastic episode. Honestly, the direction, the music, the tension, the artwork, everything about this episode was done perfectly. I still don’t dig the everyone can see Menma development, but I forgot all about it while watching Ano Hana this week. Honestly, I don’t think I’m exaggerating when I say that this was one of [...]

So, I’m filling in for Sabishii this week, because he has some aspirations to be a good student or something. Somebody needs to get their priority straight. School and good grades gets you nothing. All anime, all the time though? That’s how you become the Virgin King.
