Anime

I may be miles behind everyone else in regard to blogging this season’s series but now that I’m finally back to my laptop I plan to catch up to the most recent episodes as fast as possible. So these posts will be two at a time until I’m on time again, unless this two episode [...]

Best episode of the season so far? Nah, probably not. But I thought the zombie fight on the bridge was beautifully choreographed. I still have stars in my eyes from it.

I should stop comparing events from the anime to events from the live action show. There’s plenty of similarities, and the live action has done a good job of maintaining the spirit of the anime version. But all the little details are basically different.

Maya’s back with a vengeance. It finally occurred to me, Maya reminds me of a mix between Scully, Mulder and pre-tsundere-era tsuntsun. She’s got the Mulder paranormal chops, the Scully "don’t give me this shittu again" sense of disbelief, and more tsuntsun than you can shake a large wrench at.

Episode 16 seems to be one where Azusa gets to spend a little alone time with each of the members. In a way, it’s an episode where we watch cute girls do cute stuff rather then any actual plot to this episode. However, it’s also fits very well, as Azusa, not being a senior, is [...]

I didn’t mind the recap per se, it only took up about 1/3 of the episode… but we are only in episode 4. Now we’re on pace to have a full episode of recap… in which case they should’ve just went with a 12 episode season (assuming this is 13 episodes). Zombie kittehs enjoy noming [...]

I wish they broadcasted (or simulcasted) this show at a higher resolution than 360p. Encoding "real life" cleanly is a lot more difficult than encoding animation. So the show does not scale terribly well on a larger screen. It’s fine for most scenes, but anytime there’s action, you’ll see blurring and some encoding breakup. But [...]

The girls’ summer break is over and they’re back in school. Azusa is already excited about the school festival, but the other girls are concerned with this school mandated marathon. With this, we get a Yui centric half of the episode.

Was it just me or did the animation seem noticeably choppy and uneven in this episode? There wasn’t even that much action. Sort of disconcerting to see it happen so early in the season.

This episode starts off focusing on Ritsu and Mugi. As anyone reading my post up to this point have probably guessed, I’m a pretty big Mugi fan. Seeing her get this much screentime was absolutely wonderful.
