But it was a good ending. And I liked some of the references they made to it in P4 (YouTube video about Margaret).

I didn’t have a problem with P3′s ending per se, but I think I’m more tolerant of it in movies/shows, just because it feels so counter-intuitive to what you’ve been doing all game long. I wish there was more flexibility about the days you could boost social links, and I wish rainy days weren't a complete waste. I usually tried to finish the dungeons in one day in order to give myself enough days to boost social links and my personal skills. But by November, I had no more skills to boost, and I only had a few social links left to do, and they were mostly the job-related ones, so there were plenty of days and nights where I'd have nothing to do. As it is, my planning wasn't perfect, because I didn't get around to maxing the Temperance, Tower or Moon links (for some reason Ai disappeared for like 3 months).
I liked Naoto quite a bit, but you do need to basically social link her non-stop because she joins so late. She's useless against bosses, but she's actually really good at taking out multiple opponents in regular battle. On the downside, she loses SP like crazy, but on the plus side, when she knocks out those multiple enemies, it saves some SP for the rest of the party members.

Yeah, I hear you on that. I am about 70 some hours in and still not done, but at this point I just want it to be over. It feels like it is dragging on. Naoto should have been a character sooner or they should have scrapped her. I hear she is pretty useless anyway.
Also Persona 4 is highly story driven and can be a pain at times because sometimes I might finish the dungeon earlier and then I'm kinda just doing stat boosts or S. Links for a bunch of days waiting for the next plot point. Sometimes the dialogue goes on for a while too. Granted not all of it is bad or boring, but I haven't played a game with so much dialogue as this in a while. I've become used to the long CG movies more common to JRPGs of late to explain key plot points.
But overall it's a good game, a little lacking in the extra content but definitely a polished Persona 3.

Yeah it’s a fairly enjoyable game. Otherwise, I do prefer P3's storyline, but that's because I don't mind those boohoo endings all too much.
