Star Driver Episode 6

After seeing the events of this episode, the Cybody fighting seems a lot more dangerous than it seemed before. Fights in Zero-time always ended with little more than a bruised ego, and the only other dangers were Takuto’s scuffle in episode 1 and the threat of earthquakes from the nurse. The upping of the danger level to near-strangulation and comas is a fair step up from there, to say the least. It’s also contributing to an increasing serious air to Star Driver, but this seriousness is making the show far more engaging to watch.

Star Driver episode 4

Just as a general thing, I don’t really like the opening of Star Driver at all. The animation’s nice and all but the song itself definitely isn’t my thing; the singer’s all nasally. The ending on the other hand has really grown on me, both the song and the animation. It’s kinda like it’s telling a story of its own, the sort of simple story between friends that makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside, though that might just be me.

Star Driver episode 3

It’s three episodes into Star Driver and there isn’t a sign of any answers yet. At this early stage all we’re going to get is more questions. Regardless of that, nothing will stop anyone from theorising, and thee sure is a lot of theorising fodder sprinkled in the episodes, with all it’s weird imagery and befuddling and slightly creepy metaphors. I’m going to leave the more racy symbolism for others to interpret; I’m only here for the bishies and the mecha fights.

I stil like these artisitic looking photos. Maybe I'll try stick one at the top of every post if the episdoe shows one.

The last fall 2010 anime season preview you’ll ever read

It seems season preview posts are happening earlier and earlier these days. By the time the actual season rolls around, it’s like you gotta root through ancient history to remember what was what. Meanwhile, I’ve been doing the previews later and later. It’s at the cost of comments, but it seems to make sense to me. Sort of like how I don’t care about football season until baseball season is over, it’s hard for me to get psyched about the next season when we’re running right into the climax of the current season. So I’m bringing up the rear.
