Thanks Nathan Grimm! (and the Guide to Art Schools)

I’ll let Nathan’s comment tell the story, but long story short, Rabbit Poets has won an award! Well, it’s not really an award per se, but more like general recognition – and it comes with a badge! (now on the About page). Either way, it’s an honor. Sadly, no top 5 placing, but I can’t argue with their top 5. So go check out the list and balloon your RSS feeds further.

I am writing to inform you that Rabbit Poets has been featured on Guide to Art School’s list of the 50 Best Manga & Anime blogs found here: http://www.guidetoartschools.com/tips-and-tools/anime-manga-blogs. We hand-picked a list of our favorite manga and anime blogs and outlined the unique reasons why they are so awesome. I am quite impressed with the regular Episode Reviews on your blog which are balanced between being both critical and informative.

Now I’m feeling pressure to perform, lol. Especially since I haven’t written an episodic in a month… and now Angel Beats is half over. Getting back on the blogging train has been tougher than expected. One reason is I haven’t had the time. The second reason is I haven’t had the motivation (ugh, so far behind, never gonna catch up). But third, I don’t know why but I still feel jetlagged a week after I returned from my trip. Strangely, I had absolutely no problems with sleep and jetlag when I arrived in Japan. But it’s been kicking my ass since I got back. But I’ll catch up. Eventually. (Unless you guys tell me Angel Beats sucks. In which case I won’t. Wait- don’t tell me anything!)

  1. Congrats. ^_^

“Getting back on the blogging train has been tougher than expected. One reason is I haven’t had the time. ”

I heard that, especially when there’s a lot of real life stuff to do.

“The second reason is I haven’t had the motivation (ugh, so far behind, never gonna catch up). ”

I get like this at times. That’s why when I do have motivation, I try to do as much as possible and schedule it out so that I can take breaks away from the blog and not suffer from burn out. ^_^

“But third, I don’t know why but I still feel jetlagged a week after I returned from my trip.”

Don’t feel bad. When I went to Japan, I too had no problems adjusting to Japanese time. When I came back, it was a nightmare. I couldn’t get enough caffiene it seemed to stay awake during the day while sleeping at night proved almost worthless. It took about a week for me to readjust.

    1. Ah that’s interesting hearing that you went through the same thing. It most definitely has to do with the adrenaline rush that joojoobees mentions below. It must have taken a lot out of me. I still don’t feel like I’m back to 100% yet (although I don’t mind completely since I’ve been waking up earlier. Being at 95% forever might not be so bad. :p )

  2. Just make one multi-episode post to catch up and then go from there. That’ll get you up to speed quickly and back into the swing of things.

As for the show you picked, I thought Angel Beats was crap after watching the first episode and dropped it. But after hearing so much on Twitter how the supposed ‘good guys’ kept bullying the one character I liked, Tenshi, I started watching it again and found that it improved a lot after the first episode. I’m still uncertain how it will all play out, but it looks like it has potential.

    1. Yeah, I think you’re right about the adrenaline rush. It must’ve really taken a lot out of me. I guess I’m not terribly surprised considering the pace I was going, but man… 😮
