Battler did see Kinzo near the end of the second arc (shortly before they both became goat-chow), but reality was going all runny at that point anyway so it probably doesn't count.

I'm not sure what kind of game Kinzo is playing though. Is it to keep Beatrice subserviant to him? Is it to resurrect his former mistress? Is it to get to the Golden Land? It seems like we see a different Kinzo each time. Which brings me to my next point, Battler hasn't had any direct interaction with Kinzo in any of the games. So it's possible what Beatrice has been showing us could be false. I'm not sure I trust anything that game piece Battler hasn't seen. Still... it's probably too simple a solution for Kinzo to just not be on the island, which is why I'm also a little hesitant.

Seriously, I thought he was gonna go Kinzo rocket on Krauss.

Leaving the island or doing anything similar sounds like he’s shooting his own foot. The biggest issue with Kinzo running away is that his objective, at least as explained by the show, is that he wants to defeat Beato in the game more or less. He uses his family hoping that they solve the epitaph and win the game so Beato loses and he gets her all for himself. In reality, he hasn’t done much. He stays inside his room like a hikikomori (rich one) and hopes to make it to the last twilight and be taken to the golden land. You could say that he hardly participates in the game unlike Beato or Battler. It's supposed to be match between the two of them but it's Battler who's been doing all the work. Can it be called a 'match' if the other player doesn't play seriously? I wouldn't.

So I'm not sure about the theory that he isn't in Rokkenjima at the time the event happens. It would certainly solve the 'there are 18 people in Rokkenjima' problem but it also wouldn't completely fit for reasons said above. Well, those are my personal thoughts. For everywhere theory there's another one. Plus, none of us really know what goes on that troubled mind of his
